Nate is Senior GIS Project Coordinator at the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER) at the University of Memphis.

Nate has a bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, a master’s in City and Regional Planning from the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Memphis, and is currently a PhD candidate in Earth Science at the University of Memphis.

Nate works with a variety of public, private, and non-profit agencies and organizations on analyzing cities and trying to better understand how to revitalize declining urban areas. He has been teaching GIS for city planning at the university since 2008 and has worked on several projects as a private consultant including a successful application for the US Green Building Council’s LEED for Neighborhood Development certification of University Place in Memphis, one of the first such projects in the United States. Before joining CAESER, Nate was a Research Associate at the Regional Economic Development Center at the University of Memphis.
